About stats

To be able to view your Stats, press the Tab button and then click on the Stats tab. Here there are presented all 6 of the Preyer stats in the game as follows:

  • Vitality - The overall health expressed in HP (Hit Points).
  • Healing - The healing potency of elixirs and mushrooms.
  • Endurance - The strength to execute taxing maneuvers like Dash.
  • Witchery - The knowledge of mastery and spells.
  • Metatonia - The ability to absorb witchfire.
  • Luck - The luck in dealings with the witch.

Leveling up (Ascension)

Witchfire doesn't have a XP system, so the leveling is done by consuming volatile witchfire at the Ascension Shrine located in the Hermitorium here:

Depending on the current level, the witchfire cost to increase any stat is different. For example:

Vitality

"If not for your witchfire in your body, you will be long dead. Adding even more to your blood make you able to withstand more damage before disintegration. "

Vitality adds more hit points (HP) to the preyer.

Healing

"Studying this magic allows you to heal more efficiently, whatever is the source: a powerful healing Elixir or edible mushrooms. "

Healing is responsible for:

  • Healing Efficiency - how much health does your Elixir restores.
  • Healing Duration - how fast do you heal (in seconds).

Endurance

"You can do things no regular human can, like short distance teleports. Increasing Stamina allows you to execute them more often and with more ease. "

Endurance is responsible for:

  • Max Base Stamina - the base amount of stamina you have.
  • Stamina Regeneration Speed - how fast your stamina regenerates (in seconds).
  • Dash Length - how far your character dashes (in meters).

Also stamina is used when running and using some weapons like shotguns.

Witchery

"The more you study with magic and open your mind to its esoteric truths, the faster your body is ready for another spell. "

Witchery is pretty much your Spell Recharge Speed. The higher the witchery, the faster the cooldown. Keep in mind that being idle in the game won't recharge your spells!

Metanoia

"Witchfire gives you life and unnatural powers. Metanoia allows you to waste less volatile witchfire during the absorption process. "

Metanoia can be treated like a bonus on how much volatile witchfire you get per enemy killed. On lower levels it's actually a malus. To have a bonus witchfire of 0, you should have at least 10 Metanoia.

Luck

"The luck affects many elements of the expedition. From small things like the quality and quantity of items found in the world, to bigger ones like the frequency of Calamities. "
