Incantations are used to upgrade your Gear. You can find them as drops from special enemies like the Warden or the Drowned Captain.

Incantations are the biggest mystery of the Workshop. The biggest of all known mysteries, to be precise.

No one really knows how incantations are made. A special group of monks, sometimes accompanied by the pope himself, descends into the forbidden part of the workshop's underground. Merely an hour, they come back with one, two or even a dozen of written pages. When read, these pages reveal higher truths to the willing.

The thing is, no one knows what all of these words mean. What any of the means.
